Abstract
The survival of Anisakis simplex larvae isolated from herring and kept in a physiological NaCl solution at about: +5°C was studied. During the spawning of herring, the larval mortality rate was found reach 80%. The spawn herring leaving the Pomeranian Bay is infested to a minor degree only. The development of larval Anisakis simplex kept for 7 months in an artificial medium was followed.
